How to connect
1
Go to Settings
In ClearPolicy, navigate to Settings → Integrations.
2
Connect Zapier
Click Connect next to Zapier. You’ll be redirected to Zapier to authorize the connection using OAuth. No API keys to copy and paste.
3
Build your Zap
Once connected, ClearPolicy will appear as an app in the Zapier editor. Choose a trigger or action to start building your workflow.
Available triggers
New person
Triggers when a new person is added to ClearPolicy. Use this to kick off downstream actions in your HR system, CRM, or notification tools whenever someone is added.
Available searches
Find Person
Find an existing person by email, ClearPolicy person ID, or name. Prefer full email for a reliable match. In the Zapier editor, pair this with Add Person to use find-or-create.
Available actions
Add person
Create a new person in ClearPolicy with a name, email address, and optional phone number.
Add person to group
Add an existing person to a group. If the group has automatic request emails enabled, ClearPolicy may assign the group’s documents and send signature requests.
Remove Person From Group
Remove a person from a group. The person must already be a member. Document assignments are not automatically removed.
Create document signing request
Send a specific document to a specific person for electronic signature. You select the person and the document; ClearPolicy handles the rest.
Example workflow
Here’s a common onboarding workflow you can build with Zapier:1
Trigger: new employee added in your HR system
When a new hire is added in your HR tool (such as BambooHR, Rippling, or a Google Sheet), Zapier kicks off the workflow.
2
Action: find or create person in ClearPolicy
Use Find Person with the employee’s email (and Add Person for find-or-create) so existing people are reused instead of duplicated.
3
Action: add person to group
Zapier adds the person to the right group (for example, All Employees or a department group). If automatic request emails are on for that group, ClearPolicy can assign documents and send signature requests for you.
4
Action: create a signing request (optional)
Or send a specific document for signature yourself, using the person from the previous step.
The Zapier integration requires an active ClearPolicy subscription.
